R6 130 × 130 × 900 mm Copper Mould Tube
The R6 130 × 130 × 900 mm copper mould tube is designed for billet continuous casting applications. With a 6000 mm mould radius, 130 × 130 mm square section and 900 mm overall length, this copper mould tube is manufactured according to the caster design, steel grade, casting conditions and customer drawing.
The mould tube is available in Cu-DHP, CuAg and CuCrZr copper grades, with a hard chrome plated inner surface for improved wear resistance.
130 × 130 mm Copper Mould Tube for Billet Casting
The 130 × 130 mm mould section suits billet continuous casting machines producing a square billet format. The copper tube forms the primary cooling and solidification zone around the newly cast steel strand.
The R6 radius configuration is manufactured to match the continuous casting machine geometry and withdrawal system. The tube is supplied with the required internal taper, corner design, water-cooling configuration and mounting dimensions according to the customer's technical drawing.
Copper Grades: Cu-DHP, CuAg and CuCrZr
The copper grade is selected according to casting speed, cooling conditions, steel grade and required service life.
Cu-DHP Copper Mould Tube
Cu-DHP is the commonly used copper grade for continuous casting mould tubes. It provides good thermal conductivity and suits many standard billet casting applications.
CuAg Copper Mould Tube
CuAg copper offers improved resistance to softening at elevated temperatures compared with standard Cu-DHP. Consider it where higher thermal stability is required.
CuCrZr Copper Mould Tube
CuCrZr provides higher strength and improved high-temperature mechanical properties. It suits continuous casting applications where higher thermal and mechanical loads are expected.
Hard Chrome Plated Inner Surface
The internal surface of the 130 × 130 × 900 mm R6 copper mould tube is supplied with 0.08–0.12 mm hard chrome plating. The chrome layer on the working surface improves resistance to wear and surface damage during casting.
Plating thickness and surface requirements can be adjusted to the customer's specification or existing mould tube drawing.
